META CORPORATE FINANCE WIN KCFA DEAL OF THE YEAR AWARDS 2020/21
Last night’s event was a great success with judges Chris Price and David Miles presenting the winners and runner up with their trophies and prize.
Congratulations to Meta Corporate Finance who were awarded the KCFA Deal of the Year 2020/21.
Meta Corporate Finance received their award for their deal with Multithread. The transaction, initiated in January 2021 and completed in September 2021, was complicated by lockdown restrictions, meaning it was a fully virtual deal with all phases and communications being performed remotely – nevertheless, the acquisition of Multithread was a success.
Judges comments:
“The Multithread deal was several years in the making and demonstrates the value-add of professional corporate finance advice. Managing both a Private Equity and banking sponsor to get the deal over the line despite challenges created by supply chain bottlenecks will have required excellent communication and deal management by Peter and the team at Meta. Well done on a successful deal.”
The runner-up position was awarded to Rix & Kay who advised the shareholders of Construct on a majority share sale to Melbourne-based Online Education Services. The transaction itself was one of the largest in the sector during 2020.
Judges Comments:
“Managing multiple counterparties across the full spectrum of time zones during the height of COVID-19 must have required perseverance, not to mention operating with minimal sleep! In facilitating online learning across the globe, Construct operates in a sector that has become essential over the past 18 months”.
Thank you to all those who attended the event and congratulations to those that were involved in both winning deals, as well as all those that participated in the awards. A special thank you to Chris Price and David Miles, we were delighted to have you as our judges this year.
