Steve Metcalf joins McBrides Chartered Accountants in Sidcup as private client tax director with 24 years’ experience gained from working in Kent and the City, most recently at Blick Rothenberg.
Boosting the tax team with Steve’s appointment, McBrides tax partner Masum Ahmed said: “We’re delighted to welcome Steve to McBrides. He brings great experience to the team and our clients having advised high-net-worth individuals and their families, owner managers and entrepreneurs, and high earning individuals on all aspects of their personal tax affairs.
“Continuing to provide the highest quality tax advice remains key for us at McBrides and I am sure clients will benefit from Steve’s expertise, especially as we start gearing up for an evolving tax environment under a new government.”
A chartered tax adviser, Steve has particular experience in capital gains tax and inheritance tax issues, assisting individuals with organising their affairs for arriving into – and departing from – the UK, and in land and property taxation. He was quoted in the Financial Times on the tax implications of working from overseas property during lockdown.
Steve says: “I look forward to working with McBrides’ clients and fellow professionals across a wide range of sectors. McBrides has a long history in providing excellent advice to individuals and businesses, and I am excited to help them navigate through the ever-changing tax regime.”
Nick Paterno, managing partner at McBrides adds: “Steve’s timely appointment comes during one of the most challenging economic periods in recent years and the government’s tax planning focus could fall on high earners to help repay this in the coming years. We welcome his arrival as a great boost to our tax team.”
McBrides advises private clients and owner-managed businesses. The team of 60 people, including partners and staff, is headquartered at its landmark office in Sidcup, on the south east London and Kent border.
