Exciting year ahead for oldest law society in the country as big name sponsors in Kent announce support of their endeavours
McBrides Chartered Accountants is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Kent Law Society (KLS) for the 2022-2023 presidential year.
The KLS was established in 1818 and lays claim to being the oldest law society in the country. The not-for-profit organisation exists to promote the interest of the legal profession in Kent, aiming to provide a strong voice for the profession and promote common links that bind.
KLS president Nick Fairweather says of the partnership: “We are delighted to be renewing the longstanding relationship between KLS and McBrides, interrupted during the COVID years, this time around in a new Partnership package which I believe can provide a lasting platform that will be mutually beneficial and effective. We would not be able to achieve anything without the generous support of our sponsors and I look forward to working with the McBrides team on all the events and other initiatives we have planned for my year.”
Over the years, McBrides has established a reputation for delivering high quality advice and tax and accounting services to the legal sector in the south east.
McBrides’ legal services team is led by partners Nick Paterno and Tanya Hamilton, both of whom have worked with some of the leading legal teams in the county advising them on partnership structures, SAR obligations, as well as mergers and tax planning and management.
Nick Paterno says: “This is an exciting year for the KLS as Nick Fairweather takes the helm as president and aims to place legal education and widening access to the profession at the centre of his aims. We are delighted to be supporting the KLS and Nick’s work this year.
“Over the course of the year, through the KLS’s diverse and interesting series of events, we look forward to meeting more Kent-based legal service providers as we support a managing partners’ forum and other joint events, plus potentially working with members offering them relevant business advice.”
The KLS will be supported by six sponsors this year who all operate on an even platform with no hierarchy. It is hoped that this model will help to provide support to KLS members and deliver a successful year for the society.
